Chapter 59

Fred hadn’t been watching the time, so when he looked at his watch and saw it was almost 9 pm; he knew Ivana would be mad at him. Not that he could blame her. When he had left he had thought he would be gone for just a few hours. Now almost 12 hours later, here he was still sitting in his office.

“Shit I have to go. Tommy can you come over tomorrow and we finish this restructuring?” Fred asked Tommy. “By the way why didn’t you let me know it was so damn late?” He added as an afterthought.

“Honestly man I didn’t notice the time. You have these shades here that block out the outside world! As far as coming over, yeah I can do that.” Tommy said.

“What the hell can I do for Ivana; she’s going to want to kill me? You know this whole pregnancy mood swings and all that!” Fred shook his head.

“Personally, I would not go home if I were you!” Tommy laughed.

“Ha-ha, very funny, how am I supposed to do that? She would really have me killed if I did that!” Fred commented.

“I don’t know I guess you’ll have to face the circumstances when you get home. Good luck with that. On a side note my girl may be mad at me too, she was waiting to go anywhere today.” Tommy stated.

“So how are you two doing?” Fred asked.

“Man I have to tell you I really love her. Explaining the things I see to her and watching her face light up is just something else.” Tommy said.

“So you think you two may get married?”

“I’m seriously thinking about it.” Tommy admitted.

“Good I know Ivana and I would be happy to come to the wedding! Well I have to go, and try to calm my wife down.” Fred stated.

As he walked to the car he wondered just how mad she was. He had expected her to call or message him as the time got later. But instead he saw nothing from her. That was either a sign of her being furious, or maybe she would understand his lateness. Fred wasn’t betting on the second option at all.

He drove carefully home. He wouldn’t lie to her; he tried to never do that. But he would hope that she would listen and be understanding about it.

Pulling up in the driveway he saw the bedroom light was off. Maybe she was downstairs or even sleeping. “Hm maybe I can wake her with a little love making and that will help out?” Fred thought as he got out of the car and went inside.

Walking into the bedroom he saw Ivana on the bed, she was awake, tears were streaming down her face.

“Why were you gone so long? Did you change your mind about us?” Ivana asked. Her voice calm, but her tears gave clue to her emotions on the inside.

“Babe I’m so sorry. There was just so much that had to be done. I had to stay. Tommy was with me all afternoon.
